New Virtual Care Training Initiative to Launch this Fall

As part of our mission to transform healthcare in Saskatchewan with cutting-edge virtual care technology and robotic systems, we recognize the vital importance of educating and training healthcare professionals in the use of these new technologies and in locally assisting patients in the access of digital services.

So it is with great pride that we announce that as part of our partnership with Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT), the institute has developed the Virtual Health Hub Assistant program, a foundational 18-week applied certificate focusing on the specific skills and knowledge required to support the delivery of virtual care services and assist patients in their home communities. This program will also increase the number of Indigenous healthcare professionals and technicians trained to work in Saskatchewan’s growing virtual healthcare field.

Our first cohort will begin their studies in mid-September 2024, with students from La Loche, Stony Rapids, Pelican Narrows, and Gravelbourg participating.
